Common Presenting Concerns:

Behavioral and Emotional Challenges:

Difficulty with Emotional Regulation- Does your child seem to go from 0 to 60 in a heartbeat? Does she exhibit frequent temper tantrums, or does he display frequent anger or emotional outbursts? Are you unsure how to handle their “big feelings?” Do you “walk on eggshells” to avoid a big reaction from your child?

Disruptive, Defiant, and Noncompliant Behaviors- Does your child often “get in trouble” for not following the rules? Do you find yourself repeating yourself over and over again? Does your child often refuse to comply with requests? Do you dread having to take your child out in public (e.g., grocery shopping, playground) because you worry about her behavior ? Is your child’s teacher concerned about their behaviors at school?

Anxiety and Mood Challenges

Anxiety: Does your child often worry? Does she have difficulty separating from you? Is he excited about going to a social event but when you get there, he clings to you and refuses to participate? Does she melt down before bedtime or has difficulty falling asleep? Do they refuse to go to school? Does she have a phobia? Are they nervous about an upcoming change or are they struggling with a recent change (new school, move, loss of a loved one, making new friends)? Does he suffer from panic attacks? Does she refuse to speak with anyone other than close family members? Are you concerned about your child’s low self esteem?

Depression- Is your child sad most of the time? Does he often seem irritable? Does she often cry or isolate in her room? Have they lost interest in things and activities they used to enjoy?

Executive Functioning Challenges or ADHD

Does your child struggle with hyperactivity, impulsivity, organization, and/or time management? Do they require constant prompting to complete thier morning/bedtime routine or other daily tasks? Does he not seem to learn from his mistakes? Does she melt down when it’s time to do her homework? Does he forget to complete or hand in school assignments? Does she seem to be in constant motion and has difficulty settling down? Do they hyper-focus on things that they loves, but quickly loss interest in everything else? Does she daydream often? Does he misinterpret social cues, or does not have an understanding of people’s personal space?

Feeding Challenges/Childhood Feeding Disorders

Feeding disorders

Does your child seem to be more than just a picky eater? Are mealtimes stressful? Do they only accept a handful of foods consistently? Has she dropped many foods from her diet that she previously accepted, but has not added new ones? Is he brand specific? Do they depend on high-calorie liquids to support his growth? Does she exhibit food aversion to certain smells, textures, tastes or appearance?

LGBTQ+ Youth and Families

Has your child come out as gay/lesbian/bisexual/pansexual/etc? Is your child exploring their gender identity, or do they identify as transgender, non-binary, or gender expansive? Are you seeking therapeutic guidance, support, and resources to best support and meet your LGBTQ+ youth’s needs?

I am not a good fit for youth who present with the following concerns:

 ·      Drug or alcohol use/abuse

·      Eating disorders (e.g., anorexia, bulimia)

·      Significant trauma/abuse history

·      Severely depressed, actively suicidal, or require higher levels of therapeutic support (e.g., inpatient, partial hospitalization, residential treatment)

·      Families that are involved in high-conflict divorce, dealing with custody issues, or are concerned that their child’s well being is negatively impacted by the divorce or custody agreement. Your family will be best served by a clinician who specializes in high-conflict divorce cases, or a forensic psychologist.
